AI Solutions Architect (f/m/d)

NXAI is an Austrian AI research company located in Linz, where advanced research is transformed into real-world impact. Our focus is on next-generation xLSTM models and their industrial applications. Together with a strong network of partners, we are creating a leading center for AI innovation in Linz — and we are looking for an AI Solutions Architect (f/m/d) to join our Applied Research team on this journey.

In this role, you are the vital link between our cutting-edge research and our partners’ business needs. This role is designed for a professional who thrives at the intersection of business strategy, project orchestration and technical innovation. In this role, you aren’t just a "cog in the machine", you are the architect of the solution that changes a customer's business.

Your responsibilities

• Strategic Project Orchestration: You take ownership of the entire project lifecycle - from the initial "Scoping Workshop" to the final deployment. You ensure that milestones are met and that the project remains aligned with the customer’s business goals.

• Customer-Centric Consulting: You act as the primary interface for our industrial partners. You translate their complex business challenges into clear technical requirements for our engineering teams.

• Strategic Liaison: You identify high-impact business challenges and design the conceptual framework for their resolution. This involves translating research results such as novel xLSTM based algorithms, into production-ready, deployable solutions for various fields like time series, computer vision or robotics. 

• Defining the AI Operating Model: You guide our clients through the "How" of AI. You help define the strategic framework, from goal definition and knowledge hierarchies to autonomous decision logic and necessary business guardrails.

• Cross-Functional Liaison: You facilitate a seamless flow of information between our research, engineering and business teams. You ensure that everyone - from the C-level stakeholder to the Lead Engineer is on the same page.

What you bring to the table

• Consulting Mindset: You have several years of experience in technical project management, strategic consulting, or a similar role where you managed high-stakes customer relationships. Hands-on experience in AI/ML engineering or applied research is a big plus.

• Technical Literacy: You have a solid grasp of state-of-the-art AI architectures and frameworks. You understand the "how it works" deeply enough to design the architecture, without needing to perform the daily coding yourself.

• Methodological Excellence and Project Management Skills: Frameworks like Design Thinking, Modern Scoping, and Mapping are your daily tools for navigating complex project starts.

• Communication at all Levels: You have excellent presentation and communication skills. You can present a complex AI strategy to a CEO (C-Level) just as confidently as you can discuss requirements with a developer, in both German and English.

• Analytical Business Focus: You can penetrate technical complexity and translate it into a business case. You understand the economic levers of digital transformation and keep the ROI as your "central North Star”.
