Research Internship - Master’s level

NXAI is an Austrian AI research company located in Linz, where advanced research is transformed into real-world impact. Our focus is on next-generation xLSTM models and their industrial applications. Together with a strong network of partners, we are creating a leading center for AI innovation in Linz — and we are looking for motivated Master’s students to join us on this journey.

We offer a unique part-time, 20h / week internship opportunity for Master’s students to join our small, elite team at the forefront of AI research. You will contribute to ongoing research projects, collaborate with senior researchers and engineers and support the team by providing structured deliverables that advance our work.

Your responsibilities

• Contribute to literature reviews and structured state-of-the-art surveys.

• Implement and evaluate algorithms.

• Support experiments, benchmarking and reproducibility checks.

• Document results clearly and provide concise reports.

• Collaborate with researchers in developing and testing hypotheses.

• Prepare short presentations or summaries of findings for internal meetings.

What you bring to the table

• Enrollment in a Master’s program in AI, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields.

• Completion of at least one term of Master’s-level coursework.

• Solid background in machine learning fundamentals and applied mathematics.

• Strong programming skills.

• Ability to communicate results clearly in writing and presentations.

• Self-driven, organized and capable of working both independently and in a team.
